AAPI in association with KPC Medical College & Hospital hosted its Police Training Camp in Kolkata

American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), in association with KPC
Medical College & Hospital, is hosting its 11 th Global health Summit in Kolkata from December 27 th to 30 th ,
2017. Its major initiatives comprises, engaging with Healthcare professionals and Govt. of West Bengal in
collaboration with Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare and several leading professional
associations. The objective of this drive is to enhance skills, exchange of knowledge and making quality
healthcare affordable and accessible to all people. To support this endeavor, AAPI brought together the
best minds in medicine from India and the United States to collaborate and develop cutting edge, practical
and India centric solutions.
The Police Training Camp was be held at KPC Medical College & Hospital on December 27, 2017 at KPC
Medical College & Hospital.
Here are some of the key initiatives that were undertaken at the Police training camp :
Road Safety: Increasing number of fatalities due to traffic accidents is a major cause of concern. AAPI in
collaboration with several leading experts from India has developed the treatment and management
guidelines for head injury. It is also glad to work with the Government of West Bengal in evaluating and
conducting a pilot to implement these guidelines that have proven to reduce mortality.
CPR Training for Police: In addition, AAPI initiated the training of Traffic Police on CPR as they are
generally the first at the site of accidents. CPR when administered correctly and on time has proven to
stabilize victims until further help arrives. . Five members from AUA (American University of Antigua)
gave training to the local CPR. It was a preliminary training on how to save the lives of accident victims,
with the help of equipments. These equipments were then gifted to the Kolkata Police by AUA.
Personalities like Gautam Samadder- President Elect of AAPI USA, Shri Vivek Sahay-IPS,ADG& IGP,Traffic,
West Bengal, Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri-Founder and Chairman of KPC Group, Anwar Feroz Siddiqui -Chief
Strategic Advisor of AAPI. Renowned Actor, Mr. Sabyasachi Chakraborty and the Internationally acclaimed
Dancer, Ms Alokananda Roy were also present at the event to support the noble cause of AAPI for
developing healthcare in India.
