Designer Next India returned to Kolkata on 28th January 2017 with a glamorous evening of fashion and creativity as budding designers from various parts of the country showcase their designs on ramp. The evening witnessed a fashion extravaganza as top city models took the ramp displaying the apparels created by budding designers.
Randheer Singh, founder and Chairperson of Designer Next India, said on the occasion, “I am glad that my ambition of providing a platform to upcoming designers is getting concrete with every passing day. DNI has been providing opportunities to financially weak designers to exhibit their talents on a big platform. DNI has given the much needed break and exposure to the participating Designers and has played a pivotal role in launching their career. There are innumerable instances of designers making a big name in the fashion industry after getting their first break through Designer Next India. DNI is committed to continue providing platforms and aids to upcoming talents from fashion industry in every possible way.”
About the Kolkata edition of Designer Next India 2017, Randheer said, “It is always special to host DNI show in Kolkata, the cultural capital of India. The people of Kolkata as well as Bengal are very passionate about everything and that also includes Fashion. Designers here are highly creative and we have some of the better designers from here every year. This is our third edition in Kolkata and the response here is getting bigger every year. This year as many as 28 designers are participating from Kolkata.”
Well known Fashion designers Indroneel Mukherjee and Rajlakhsmi Ghosh along with Sraboni Dutta were present as Judges for the show. Actor/Exhibitor Arijit Dutta was also present during the show. The hunk from Tollywood who is often seen turning showstoppers for various fashion shows in Kolkata walked the ramp in support of Designer Next India. Director Manoj Michigan who has gifted The Bengali film Industry films like 89 and Damadol was present as special guest for DNI. American Consulate General Jon Ward also dropped in at the event to support the endeavour.
