Bengal Thumpers organizes- Independence Day Ride 2017

Bengal Thumpers, a Kolkata based Royal Enfield riding club, in association with “Harinavi Srijan Vidyapith”, has organized an event, called “Independence Day Ride 2017”, showcasing Govt. of West Bengal’s “Safe drive, Save life” campaign on 15th August’2017. The title partner of the event was CenturyPly.

This is one of the many signature events of Bengal Thumpers, and this time it spread happiness among the under-privileged children. About 200 motorcyclists were invited for this event, as ‘For a reason’ team, who rallied to South-24 Parganas to meet up with 130 Children and to celebrate the 71st Year of Indian Independence with one goal, to “Spread Smile and Happiness to God’s Own Children”. The event was graced by the Indian footballer Mehtab Hussain.

The rally was flagged off at 7’o clock in the morning from Ruby General Hospital and headed to Srijan Vidyapith, Haral, Tetulia, Champahati, South-24 Parganas, in order to spend the rest of the day with those children and make the day special for them such that they cherish this day throughout their lives.

There was also be a Flag hoisting ceremony at 9am, followed by a Cultural programme, performed by the under-privileged children. Health Check-Up camps were arranged for these children as well.

The organisers believe in the saying of Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, that “We will be remembered only if we give to our younger generation a prosperous and safe India, resulting out of economic prosperity coupled with civilizational heritage.”

We feel now it’s useless to keep hoping. The way things are today, we live in a world that needs a Smile, hence we have decided if we can put a Smile on people, We are making a more important contribution.”
