Indo-Oriental eatery in London puts Bengal on the global map

 Locatedinthe heart of Greenwich, London, a new culinary destination, Toomai Square, has revolutionized the way Indian food is perceived in the United Kingdom. Co-owned by two brothers who hail from India, Mr. Kumar Sunil, Director and Mr. Bhola Prasad, Executive Chef and Director, Toomai Square, have with this endeavour not only made India but Bengal swollen with pride.

Toomai Square is a brand new restaurant in London that has combined, Indian flavors and Thai freshness and exoticness and Chinese cooking methods to build the perfect symphony for the palate. Toomai Square has become the go-to family restaurant for Londoners. The cuisine served is a clever combination of Eastern and Western influences. Transforming Asian dishes into bold, inventive and fresh creations, the food focuses on high-quality ingredients and refuses to compromise on good and healthy yet delicious food.

The brothers, who grew up in North East India, drew inspiration from India and its rich culture and heritage. This clearly reflects in their food wherein they source their ingredients primarily from India. Executive Chef Mr. Bhola Prasad has had extensive work experience in Kolkata. He has worked with various food brands and star properties across the city namely Hotel Hindustan International (HHI). He has used his learning and knowledge from these places at his own restaurant in London.

Mr. Bhola Prasad, Executive Chef and Director, Toomai Square added, “India is a country full of flavours. No matter where I go, my roots will always echo in my work and I am proud of that. I feel it is my responsibility to make people aware of my country and its rich culinary culture.”

The menu is an excellent journey of deliciousness. Starting with some classic Edamame beans, to a spicy honey chili veg and a fresh portion of Thai calamari, the variety on the menu is ample. The mains come next, either with a light choice or a Chef’s special; it’s all about one’s food mood! They serve everything from Yellow Lobster curry and Chicken Manchurian to Black Cod with ginger and shiitake mushrooms, and offer a drinks menu that includes cocktails that are unparalleled. Classic Thai curries like a Penang and Red curry to fusion dishes like Paneer chilli, Honey Chilli veg also make appearances on the menu. Laksa, ramen and raw papaya salad are also present for the ones who do not like to experiment. Traditional Asian diet plan provides a healthy way to nourish the body and energize the mind. From using nuts, legumes and seeds that are rich in iron and proteins, dark colored leafy vegetables that are great sources of iron, soy products, and seeds to nuts that are rich sources of calcium, the kitchen of Toomai Square ensures taste is delivered with good health.
