Kolkata, 28th May ’17: Association of Architects, Builders, Interior Designers and Allied Business (ABID) presented its yearly mega event ‘INTERIORS 2017’ at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, in the presence Young and Glamorous Bengali Film Actor Rukmini Maitra and the most popular Bengali Movie and television Actor Indrani Dutta. Along with them Mr. Ajit Jain, Past President, ABID; Mr.Anand Gupta, Secretary ABID and Joint Secretary Mr. Chancal Banerjee were also present on the inaugural day of the mega event. The exhibition will continue till 3rd of May, 2017 from 10am to 7pm.
As per the standards set by ABID the exhibition will be breaking new grounds in Interior Design and Product launches. ABID has played an active part over the years in promoting and educating the Eastern Region of India with new developments in the Building industry both Interior & Exterior.
The Organization regularly holds Exhibitions, Seminars, Skill Development Programmes, Educational tours for its members and also for upcoming professionals of the building industry. ABID over the years has encouraged vocational training in this field by regularly tying up with various institutes of Eastern region imparting such education by inviting students for its various programs and also by providing field training opportunity to these students. The deserving students are also awarded merit certificates by ABID in Consultation with the Institutes.
ABID has also honoured eminent personalities from various fields of this industry by recognizing their contribution and efforts. Awards are given to such personalities in the Interior fairs. This tradition even continues today.
The visitors in this mega event would get the opportunity to explore great stalls like Fenesta , Nitco, Atlantis , etc. Furthermore some of the recognized brands have introduced new ranges in Furnishings, floorings, AC’s, Automation Systems etc. The exhibition showcases the new dimensions and innovations in Interior Decor which are catching the fancy of the end users and affecting their daily life.
Though no buying and selling is allowed in this fair, but it generates awareness leading to enquiries which culminates in business to the tune of several Million of rupees in this region. Interior Decoration and Furnishing though is in the unorganized sector, yet it generates a great deal of employment for both skilled and unskilled manpower. The total Interior Decoration kitty in Kolkata would be of approximately Rs.500 Crores per annum. The Exhibition is visited by more than 1 lakh persons every year and we hope to achieve much more this year.
