RAM KAMAL turns host for Bengali superstar Dev and Rukmini’s film Chaamp

By Surya Sekhar Roy: -Author, veteran film journalist and television producer Ram Kamal Mukherjee turns host for the first time for Bengali superstar Dev and debutant actress Rukmini. The actor turned producer Dev, will visit maximum city tomorrow with his lead actress to launch the first trailer of his film Chaamp at Twitter India office on Sunday at 12 noon from “Blue Room”.
The film is directed by Raj Chakraborty, also known as blockbuster director in Bengal. The film revolves around the life of a boxer played by Dev and his journey from nobody to somebody.
This will be for the first time in the history of Bengali cinema that any film personality will launch his trailer live on Twitter. Dev and Rukmini will face veteran journalist and ex editor of Stardust Ram Kamal Mukherjee as host in a fun grilling session at the “Blue Room”.
“I am very happy to be a part of Dev’s maiden venture as a producer. We have been friends for almost half a decade and it’s been a pleasure since then. Rukmini is a fine actress and I admire her style quotient and intelligence of understanding cinema,” says Ram Kamal Mukherjee.
Dev and Rukmini had launched Ram Kamal’s first fiction Long Island Iced Tea in Kolkata early this year, and Dev also launched Mukherjee’s official website. “Ram Kamal is so clued in about Bengal and its culture even though he has been living in Mumbai for 20 years. We wanted someone like him who loves cinema and who is also loved by people. I am looking forward to meet him once again,” says Dev. The actor is also a Member of Parliament from the ruling party of West Bengal. He has worked in several blockbuster movies and touted as one of the biggest superstars of Bengali cinema.
Lead actress Rukmini mentioned, “I know ‘The Ram Kamal Mukherjee’, I have grown up reading his interviews and articles. I am happy and excited to face his questions at Twitter India office, I am sure he will make it a fun session for all.”

With millions of fan following Ram Kamal, Dev and Rukmini will be facing questions from fans across India. And this will mark a new trend in the history of Bengali cinema.
The film is produced under Dev Entertainments Pvt Ltd and will release on Eid, along with Salman Khan’s Tubelight. Incidentally Tubelight is also produced by Salman Khan.
