Many studies cite increasing stress and anxiety levels across the board for all age groups. #HappinessChallenge inspires people from all walks of life to make a conscious effort in order to overcome negativity and anxiety. According to Pres. Bhat, anyone from any faith can take the challenge using any electronic device with access to internet. “Making the program free of cost with no barriers to access, other than internet was critical to making the program accessible to the greatest number of people from all faiths and walks of life”, she explained.

JKYog’s #HappinessChallenge has turned up in doctor’s offices, coffee shops, class rooms, corporate wellness programs, universities, fitness centers, and more. People from all faiths and walks of life are taking the challenge.

As a school career counselor, Sonali Kothari, in Madurai, has been asking students she advises to take on #HappinessChallenge. “Many students are ill-equipped to make the transition to university studies. They seem without direction, sense of purpose or lacking confidence. It’s been amazing to watch this challenge totally transform their thinking.” She learned about the challenge from one of her friends living in Delhi.

A businessman in Durban, Vijay Gautam, was introduced to #HappinessChallenge through a set of friends in Seattle. According to Gautam, his friends learned about it from a stranger in the line at the bank. “I never knew such a random encounter could lead to such an awakening. Such a simple program but profoundly a game changer.”

JKYog has set up supplementary resources to equip challenge participants for success. A daily on-line Happiness Forum provides additional support, a chance for discussion, questions, and needed inspiration along the way. Additionally, a Happiness Concierge is running at JKYog HQ which provides ongoing needed support.

The JKYog #Happiness Challenge launched January 1st with the start of the New Year when resolutions are most often made. Although this challenge has rapidly spread worldwide, it required many months to plan and organize. An immense team of volunteers collaborating around the world combined with grass roots inspiration collectively created this world wide movement.

Swami Mukundananda kicked off the challenge with a series of speaking engagements at universities and other locals in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh in India. Speaking at IIT Indore , his inspiring talk provoked young engaging minds to redefine their goals of happiness.
