Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City and SRL Ltd supported by the Metro Railways organized a Free Medical Camp for the commuters of Metro Railway at the Park Street Metro Station held on Wednesday, 20th September from 10 am- 1pm. Nearly 500 commuters got themselves checked and another 400 were given free counselling by Doctors at the camp. This was first in a series of such camps planned for the Metro Railway commuters by Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City and SRL Ltd with support of Metro Railways.
Chief Public Relations Officer of Metro Railways, Smt Indrani Banerjee, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Past District Secretary of Rotary District 3291 Subhojit Roy and Calcutta Metro City President Bandana Das.
The camp provided the following facilities.
- The free health camp had facilities to check blood pressure, height – weight check up, measurement of the percentage of oxygenated haemoglobin through pulse oximeteret followed by free blood test of Creatinine Sugar and Cholesterol.
Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City, part of Rotary International with 1.2 million global membership and presence across 215 countries is the largest service organization in the world with a permanent seat in the UNO, supported SRL’s initiative as a continuation of Rotary’s health camps with the Metro Railway in Kolkata held for the past 3 years. Past District Governor Shyamashree Sen sent her message for the camp, “ Rotary is committed to bring good health and wellbeing for the local population and we thank SRL and Metro Railways for joining hands with us to bring such world standard facilities at the doorstep of Metro users”.
