‘Naba Barsha’ celebrations with Baisakhi Food Festival

The month of April is auspicious all over India with the advent of the month of Baisakh.
The month signifies the beginning the harvest season, Baisakh is celebrated in many parts
of the country as the harbinger of prosperity and happiness. Hotel Casa Fortuna is all
geared up to celebrate with their most awaited food event- the Baisakhi Food Festival – at
their signature pure vegetarian restaurant Casa Kitchen.
Beginning from 12 th to 22 nd April 2018, the Baisakhi Food Festival boasts of an elaborate
menu full of Punjabi and North Indian flavours. The selection will be available for lunch
(12.30-3.30PM) and dinner (7.30-11pm) at Casa Kitchen.
In the appetizers, guests can choose the Chef’s signature dishes of cheesy and creamy
Paneer Malai Makhana Tikka or exciting Subz Bhuna Masala Tikki giving the palate a
new tangy twist.
For the mains course, food enthusiasts can choose from a variety of Punjabi and North
Indian specialties. Traditional favourites like Makki di roti and Sarson ka saag are always
sought after but guests can also sample new dishes in Paneer Pukhtan (dices of cottage
cheese cooked in Royal gravy ) along with the staple potato slow cooked in spicy and
delicious Punjabi recipe in the popular Dum Aloo Punjabi. The Chef highly recommends
the Jalandhari Kofta,-vegetable dumplings made in rich brown gravy adding the right
variation to the regular taste.
Punjab is the land of the ‘golden wheat’ and we at Casa Kitchen are offering a variety of
the Indian breads – Missi Roti (A classic tandoori roti made of gram flour and wheat flour),
Amritsari Kulche (Stuffed Kulcha with dry coriander and fenugreek) and Pyaz Paratha (A
traditional onion paratha). No Punjabi is happy without Rajma and the festival spread has
both the Rajma Dal and the Dhabe ki Dal.
For dessert, one cannot look beyond the Gajar ka Halwa – simmered in milk and with
flavours of cardamom and the ever-indulging Kesaria Firni. To compliment the entire
course and beat the heat, a range of exotic cocktails and mocktails along with imported
liquor and wines are available. Prices for a meal for a couple will be approximately Rs 1200
plus taxes.

  1. Really great post. We can eat all varieties of food in Baisakhi Food Festival. I love this festival eating all sorts of food items. Thanks for remembering me with this festival. I am just waiting for the arrival of Baisakhi food festival.
