45th Annual Conference of IAPMR

20th January, 2017 Kolkata: 3 days the  is being organized by West Bengal Branch of IAPMR from 20th to 22nd of January, 2017 at Science city auditorium, Kolkata, West Bengal.

Rehabilitation Medicine/PMR is one of the upcoming medical fraternity in the developing World though it has been already established as an very important specialty in western World. Unfortunately it is not so developed in India. Most of the Neurological Conditions, Pain due to Cumulative trauma, Geriatric Conditions, Specific areas of Cardio Pulmonary , Pediatric ailments may be best dealt by a rehab team but there is gross lack of awareness regarding this subject.


More than 400 PMR Specialist throughout country and more than 50 International delegates from different countries from all over the world are participating in this conference to exchange their research work and expertise. This will definitely uplift the standard of practice to help differently abled persons in near future. Attaching the program schedule to make you aware about the excellent sessions and scientific deliberations by the great academicians in the field of management Stroke Spinal cord Injury Amputation and robotics Community based rehabilitation Legal issues of differently abled persons. Not only that there will be extensive focused session on rehabilitation of Lung conditions, Cancer affected patients, Rheumatologic Disorders etc. There are extensive latest hand workshops and scientific discussions regarding advanced interventional technologies to manage pain and spasticity to manage cerebral palsy etc.


Former captain of India Sourav Ganguly and his counterpart famous dancer Dona Ganguly extended their hands to help this disabled persons by their gracious presence. Along with that good number of blind and spastic little kids have performed choreography in the inaugural program. Along with Sashi Panja, CMC Vellore Ex Director: Dr Suranjan Bhattacharji, AIIMS: Dr S.L. Yadav, NINHAMS: Dr Anupam Gupta, Editor of Journal of Neurology: Dr Satish Khadilkar and hundreds of eminent faculty from all over the world. The event has been followed by traditional Bengal Cultural performances.


Bollywood eclectic Singer Akriti Kakkar is also making her presence to encourage some disabled persons by her singing performance on the eve of 21st January, 2017.
