Gitanjali Metro Celebrates Rabindra Jayanti

By Sushmita Sah: – West Bengal, along with the rest of India, dedicated Tuesday, 9th may to melodious songs, captivating poems and stirring plays as the Bengali Community across the country celebrated the 156th birth anniversary of the great poet and novelist Rabindranath Tagore.
On Tagore’s 156th anniversary Indian Metro Rail along with Colors celebrated this great day at Gitanjali Metro station, in the presence of the DGM of Metro Railways Mr. Protyush Ghosh. The event started with a Rabindra sangeet and flower tribute to Tagore, followed by many other recitations, singing and dance performances.
According to Mr. Protyush Ghosh, they organized the program at Gitanjali metro station because the name “Gitanjali” itself is very closely linked with Kavi Guru Tagore as his famous writing.
This event was a great success.
