By Suhrid Ghosh: – Already turning heads and catching eye-balls since the trailer launch, ‘Indu Sarkar’ has been locked for release on July 28 featuring Kirti Kulhari, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The first song of the movie – Chadhta Sooraj – a reworking of the famous Qawaali by the same name and originally sung by the legendary Qawaal – Aziz Nazan – has been launched today. The recreated version has been sung by the son of Aziz Nazan – Mujtaba Aziz Nazan and he features in the video along with Neil Nitin Mukesh in a strikingly different get-up.
On this occasion, Mujtaba Aziz Nazan said, “It was a great experience working with Anu Malik and Madhur Bhandarkar. We had to ensure that while remaking the song for the new generation, we retained the essence and the spirit of the original qawwali. This song is very close to my heart as the original one has been sung by my father. I have seen people being extremely moved when I have performed this song in the past, I’m hoping it will be well received in the movie as well.”
The song was released on Saregama’s YouTube channel – https://www.youtube.com/watch?
