Kolkata,By Payel Das:- The competition is organized jointly by Pratima Chandra Foundation and Daakghar. Rabindra Sangeet enthusiasts, about three thousand, from different parts of the country showed interest for the auditions. Out of them, 93 persons were called for audition on 6th & 7th December, 2016. The judges selected 12 participants for the grand finale. These participants will compete live in front of the judges and the audience. Eminent singers like Smt. Sraboni Sen, Smt. Indrani Sen, Smt. Sreeradha Bandopadhyay, Smt. Pramita Mallick, Sri Manoj Murali Nair and many others will judge and also perform on that day. The winners will be awarded Musical Instruments worth Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand) and Trophies. The President of Dover Lane Music Conference and Chairman of P.C. Chandra Group, Sri B.K. Chandra, will grace the occasion. This is the second activity of Pratima Chandra Foundation which was founded in the month of October, 2016. The first one was a competition of Classical Music (Vocal) held in the month of November, 2016, in association with Dover Lane MusicAcademy. The objective of the organization is to leverage philosophy of Tagore and empower Bengali tradition with a new ethnicity. From its very inception, Daakghar, under the leadership of Sri Manoj Murali Nair, has engaged itself in incessant endeavors towards popularizing Tagore’s thought and in inculcating his ideologies through various cultural events in the present day society and to take initiative to encourage the young generation also to involve themselves in the culture introduced and propagated by Tagore.
