Raag Ganga makes it's world premiere at ICCR on 18th June, 6:30pm on the eve of the World Music Day

Sultan of Santoor Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya created the Raag Ganga and is all set to make a World Premiere of the Raag Ganga at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium , ICCR Kolkata on 18th June 2018 the eve of the World Music Day on 21st June.

Presently the maestro is in the midst of a whirlwind 2 months tour of Europe and USA where he is mesmerizing his global audience with a seres of concerts. Speaking from the USA, the maestro said that “this will be the first concert completely dedicated to Raag Ganga as prior to this he has played glimpses from his Raag Ganga but not the entire creation in one single concert. He felt that Indian music needs to exposed to the global audience and all possible platforms of promotion must be used for the outreach. He said Social, Digital media shall be the mainstay of such promotion.” 
He further added, ” the response to this new Raag Ganga has been outstanding throughout the globe and hoped that this shall catch on the with youngsters in India practising Hindustani Classical notes.”

Giving him company on Tabla shall be the GIMA winner of 2016 Prodyut Mukherjee

Santoor Maestro Pdt Tarun Bhattacharya created Raag Ganga dedicated to the lifeline of India.The maestro expresses his sentiment of sadness and melancholy as we are slowly destroying our lifeline Ganga and almost reducing it to that of a sewerage pouring all the filth and polluting it to the extent that it may soon become extinct.  The Raag is his salutation to Mother Ganga and an appeal to all Indians that enough is enough , now let us get into the act of cleaning up our Mother Ganga and save her from extinction.
