Sanjha Chulha completes 15 years of impeccable hospitality

Renowned restaurant chain Sanjha Chulha completed 15 glorious years of impeccable hospitality and sterling quality serving its loyal patrons delicious North Indian food and setting a new benchmark in the industry. Jointly owned by partners Asif Ahmed and Anup Mehrotra, the first outlet of Sanjha Chulha was opened at EM Bypass on October 10, 2002 ushering in an era of pocket friendly Dhaba-style comfort food served in a fine-dining atmosphere that still continues to charm the City of Joy. To celebrate the occasion actress Sayani Datta, director Satrajit Sen, singer Lagnajita Chakraborty and music composer Indrajit Dey Indro from the upcoming film “Michael” were present to launch the “Special 15” – featuring 15 popular dishes commemorating 15 years of Sanjha Chulha.

 

“It’s an incredible feeling to celebrate this achievement. We are very proud of our team and the people whose support brought us so far in our culinary journey,” said Asif and Anup. “We still remember the first six months when there was hardly any footfall. But after that first hurdle was over, we never had to look back. Our heartfelt thanks to our patrons, friends, family and well-wishers who stood by us,” they added.

 

Executive Chefs Md. Shamshuddin and Md. Maqsood said, “Our North Indian cuisine remains the top favourite. From the starters to the main course to the dessert, our classic dishes have never failed us. We keep our recipes close to our hearts but the secret ingredient is always love,” they smiled.

 

The “Special 15” menu includes old favourites of Sanjha Chulha which are on the menu even now. “These dishes have stood the test of time and have emerged as the winners of Sanjha Chulha. We want our patrons to enjoy these dishes at our special prices,” said Anup.

The dishes in the menu include Tandoori Chicken, Murg Malai Kebab, Murg Tikka Kebab, Chicken Geelafi Seekh Kebab, Mutton Jalandari Seekh Kebab, Chutney Paneer Tikka, Bharwaan Aloo, Butter Chicken, Chicken Bharta, Mutton Keema Matar, Paneer Butter Masala, Palak Paneer, Gosht Roganjosh, Pindi Chana and Vegetable Jhaal Fareezi. The “Special 15” will be available at a special price of INR 200 plus GST per plate from November 5 to 30, 2017.

 

Adding one more feather to its cap, Sanjha Chulha has been instrumental in starting the first FOOD ATM in West Bengal which earned rave reviews from all corners. “The idea was to give back to the society. In the Food ATM people can donate food and those who go without food can collect it from there. We are overwhelmed with the response and plan to do more meaningful contributions in future,” said Asif.

 

The patrons were overwhelmed to be a part of the 15 years celebration recollecting their association with a wave of nostalgia. “I am coming here for the last 14 years. The hospitality, warmth and quality remain the same. Sanjha Chulha is more like an extended family and gives us immense pleasure to be able to witness each milestone achieved by the two owners,” said Manpreet Bindra, who works in a pottery studio.

 

Imran Zaki is a huge fan of the Mughlai food from Sanjha Chulha. “I have been coming here since the day this place had started. My favourite items are Chicken Meethi Malai and the iconic Murgh Tikka Biryani which started when wife Farah had her birthday party at this outlet itself,” said Zaki.

 

“It has been wonderful 15 years of association with Sanjha Chulha and it feels great to be a part of this close knitted culinary family. The stable service and quality food brings us back to this legendary place. The quick food delivery, within 30 minutes is another plus point to add on,” said Tinnat Ahmed Lai, working as a consultant.

 

Tania Malhotra heaved a sigh of relief! “I am a Bengali girl married to a pure vegetarian Punjabi family, and Sanjha Chulha comes to my rescue with their Anda Biryani,” laughed the digital marketing professional. “The Paneer Tikka, Baby Corn and Dal Makhani is a must try,” she added.

“We left IAM with a vision together and today the restaurant stands tall for 15 momentous years, boasting of three more successful outlets at Southern Avenue, Kasba Industrial Area and CIT Road. We have plans for a new banquet hall and may be its time we should head towards other cities too,” said the enthusiastic duo.
