The police officer is a relative of Binoy Mishra, one of the accused in the case. According to sources, Ashok Mishra used to take money from coal smugglers and pass it on to other police officers.
Incidentally, the Central Investigation Agency had summoned Bankura Inspector-in-Charge (IC) Ashok Mishra more than once two months ago. After avoiding appearing several times, he appeared at the CBI office in Kolkata. According to sources, the first interrogation lasted for about 8 hours.
