69 companies deployed in the sixth round of elections – News18 Beganli

#Kolkata: 6th phase election on 22nd April. On this day, voting took place in 43 seats of 4 districts of the state. These four districts include North 24 Parganas, East Burdwan, Nadia and North Dinajpur. In the sixth phase of the election, 69 companies of Central Force will be deployed to guard the booths.

Let’s see where and how many companies will have central forces deployed-

Asansol Durgapur – 14 companies Bangaon – 69 companies Barasat – 59 companies Barrackpore – 108 companies Basirhat – 40 companies Bidhannagar Commissionerate – 3 companies South Dinajpur – 3 companies Islampur – 72 companies Krishnanagar – 162 companies East Burdwan – 143 companies Raiganj – 9

A total of 307 candidates are contesting from 43 seats. The total number of voters in these constituencies is 1.03 crore. Of these, 50.56 are women and 256 are third gender people. A total of 14,460 polling booths have been set up for the sixth phase of the polls. Trinamool’s Swapan Debnath, Chandrima Bhattacharya, Ujjal Biswas and Kaushani Mukherjee are among the heavyweight candidates for this term. Unlike Kaushani, Mukul Roy is fighting from Krishnanagar North. Besides, Trinamool’s Jyotipriya Mallick and BJP’s Rahul Sinha are contesting from Habra assembly constituency.
