#Kolkata: Sixth phase of elections (West Bengal Assembly Election Phase 6) is underway in 43 assembly constituencies. This time the Election Commission is keeping a close watch on the unrest. Strict security and surveillance is being maintained in all the assembly seats. The Commission is very careful to avoid the repetition of the fourth clause and to abide by the Corona Prohibition. Despite sporadic reports of unrest since the morning, the polls are still peaceful. According to Election Commission sources, drones are being used to monitor every assembly. However, special attention has been paid to the center like Barrackpore.
According to the commission, the total number of booths in North 24 Parganas is 5,501 Of these, 2,100 are highly sensitive booths. There are a total of 2,631 booths in East Burdwan, of which 1,322 are identified as hypersensitive. There are 3,072 booths in Nadia, of which 1,110 are highly sensitive. On the other hand, out of 306 booths in North Dinajpur, there are 692 highly sensitive booths. These booths will be under special surveillance from 10pm on Wednesday until the end of the voting process on Thursday. Care will be taken not to spread unrest in any way. In that case, the commission has also directed to take strict action if necessary.
On the other hand, the Election Commission is happy with the performance of the Central Forces in the fifth phase of the Assembly Polls 2021 in Bengal. The authorities want the forces to work in the same formula in the sixth phase as well. Therefore, the commission has not made any shortage in the deployment of paramilitary forces in this election as well. In the sixth phase of the assembly polls, 69 companies of central forces have been deployed in 43 centers in North Dinajpur, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and East Burdwan. According to the commission, out of these 69 companies, 14 companies are deployed in Asansol-Durgapur. Barasat and Bangaon in North 24 Parganas have a total of 126 company forces. 108 companies of paramilitary forces have been stationed at Barakpur. On the other hand, there are 40 company forces in Basirhat and 3 in Bidhannagar. Besides, 161 companies will be deployed in North Dinajpur, 163 companies in Krishnanagar and 143 companies in 6 centers in East Burdwan.
