#Kolkata: The commission protested against Firhad Hakim, a grassroots candidate from Kolkata Port, for violating the Model Code of Conduct. A reply has been summoned within 24 hours. The BJP approached the commission alleging violence among supporters during the election campaign. He is spreading violence against the BJP by spreading the allegations of Gerua Shibir. The commission said a notice was sent to him after investigating the allegations.
The BJP’s allegations against Firhad, he has incited his supporters to attack BJP workers and supporters by going out in the campaign. The BJP brought this allegation to the commission by sharing the link of a Facebook post.
The commission issued a notice on Tuesday stating that the commission had examined the BJP’s allegations on its own. After verifying the authenticity of the video, it was decided to issue a show cause notice against Firhad Hakim. Citing Firhad Hakim’s remarks, the commission also said the remarks violated the Electoral Code of Conduct. His statement violated sections 1 and 2 of the Model Code of Conduct.
Incidentally, Bobby Hakim’s khas taluk is Kolkata port. He has become a candidate from there. And a video of one of his comments came out in that campaign. Despite the BJP’s allegations, the Trinamool candidate claimed that the video was fake. Firhad Hakim’s counter-allegation was that a BJP activist was making obscene remarks about him and his party. What has been put in his mouth is completely false. In Firhad’s words, “Every time a fake video is made before the election, it leaves the BJP’s IT cell.”
