There were different opinions about how much cyclone Yas will affect Bengal. However, in the end, meteorologists explained by hand that the direction of the cyclone has changed. Even if it touches the coastal region, it will hit the Dhamra port of Orissa. The situation in the coastal areas has been deteriorating long before the cyclone hit. Besides inspecting the situation on the spot, he will review the damage in a meeting with the concerned district administration and decide on the next steps. He will be accompanied by a task force headed by Chief Secretary Alapan Banerjee. According to the Chief Secretary, the Chief Minister will visit the devastated area on May 28 by air. He will hold administrative meetings at various places in the affected areas. He will first go to Hingalganj in North 24 Parganas. Sandeshkhali will conduct an administrative meeting after surveying large areas including Dhamakhali. From there you will go to the sea by air. He will visit the devastated areas of the Sundarbans and hold an administrative meeting in the Ganges.

After the meeting at sea, the Chief Minister will leave for East Midnapore by air. He will first land in Digha, another district in Yas. There you will visit the area and go to Kanthi. He will look into the situation in Ramnagar. Then the Chief Minister will go to his constituency Nandigram this year. The death toll from the cyclone is still 4 in Bengal. The chief minister said the state government would compensate the family of the deceased.
