4 arrested in ATM fraud case, police nab two accused from Surat

A few days ago, fraudsters swindled millions of rupees from four ATMs in Kashipur, New Market, Jadavpur and Boubazar without breaking the machines. Experts speculate that the sophisticated device was used to make money by fooling the bank’s own servers. Investigators from the Kolkata Police’s Bank Fraud Suppression Branch suspected that a Faridabad gang may be behind the scam. To catch the fraudsters, the officers of Calcutta Police migrated to Vinh State Police arrested Manoj Gupta, 40, and Naveen Gupta, 30, from Surat. Both of them are residents of Fatehpur Beri in Delhi Apart from this, two more accused named Biswadwip Raut and Abdul Saiful Mandal were also arrested from Kolkata. Police recovered several electronic devices, debit cards and other equipment from the suspects.

The two accused arrested from Surat will be produced in court and brought to Kolkata on transit remand. Investigators will also try to find out in detail how the two others arrested in Kolkata were taken into custody and interrogated. According to the police, the search is on for the remaining accused
