#Kolkata: It is not too late for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. To that end, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started weaving a web of dreams about Ayodhya. After reviewing the development plan for the temple town of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, he said Ayodhya should carry the message of ‘our best heritage and our best developmental change’. In the virtual meeting, Modi claimed that Ayodhya is a city that can engrave the cultural conscience of every Indian. The future infrastructure needs to be matched with the humanity of the city. And then the opposition entered the hall. In order to attack Modi’s Ayodhya dream, the ruling party Trinamool has raised the issue of land scandal at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
In response to Narendra Modi’s tweet about Ayodhya, the official handle of the Trinamool Congress has countered, ‘Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi shed light on the land corruption in Ayodhya through BJP leaders and their relatives? He is emphasizing in the wrong place again. ‘
In a meeting on Saturday, Modi spoke of developing Ayodhya as a spiritual center, tourism hub and smart city. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present at the meeting. A presentation on Ayodhya was also given at the meeting. It highlights various aspects of development planning. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also briefed Modi on the projects that have been launched or proposed to improve the communication system in Ayodhya. Modi was also briefed in detail about the expansion of airports and railway stations, bus depots and national roads.
However, the allegations of corruption in Ayodhya are not covered by that. Ayodhya Mayor Hrishikesh Upadhyay has been implicated in corruption allegations in the sale of Ram Mandir land. Allegedly, the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Trust bought the land worth Tk 20 lakh in 3 months at a price of Tk 2.36 crore. A few days ago, several political parties, including the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, made explosive allegations of corruption in buying land for the Ram Mandir. Allegedly, the land that was bought for Tk 2 crore at 6.10 pm on March 16 was sold to the Ram Mandir Trust for Tk 16 crore after 15 minutes. In other words, in 15 minutes the price of land increased by Tk. Opponents have raised allegations of corruption, wondering how land prices could rise in this way. This time the grassroots also raised the issue.
