#Kolkata: Young man jumps from 2nd Hoogly Bridge! A young man attempted suicide by jumping from Vidyasagar Bridge on Sunday night. However, the police operation has been able to save the life of the youth. However, he has serious injuries on his head and various parts of his body.
According to police sources, the man who tried to commit suicide by jumping from the second Hooghly bridge was Raju Das, a resident of VIP Nagar near Bypass. As soon as he left the bike and jumped, he saw it immediately and an unidentified person called the 100 dial of the Kolkata police and reported the whole incident. News from Lalbazar control room reached Dakshin Bandar police station. After that, the police of Dakshin Bandar Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued Raju Das in critical condition. Raju Das is currently undergoing treatment at SSKM Hospital.
According to the initial investigation, the police estimated that he had lost his job in the lockdown and was mentally exhausted. However, it is not yet clear whether that is the real reason. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, police recovered the young man’s motorbike from the second Hooghly Bridge. According to the source, the young man was walking on the bridge for some time before attempting suicide. At that time he was restless. After a while, he tried to commit suicide by leaving his bike. Sources said that the young man is a resident of Vinrajya.
