What: River of Words 2025 – a full-day festival celebrating translation, creativity and literary innovation, organised by the Antonym Council of Global Arts and Literature (ACGAL) in collaboration with the Institute of Language Studies and Research (ILSR) and the Kolkata Centre for Creativity.

A vibrant day of panel discussions, book launches, performances, workshops, book club gatherings, artistic showcases and youth-focused activities. The festival will welcome an exciting constellation of authors, translators, illustrators, scholars, theatre and filmmakers, publishing professionals, educators and students. Key highlights include multiple book launches throughout the day and the unveiling of the Flight Of The Paper Planes Journal, a new English-language magazine for young readers by Antonym Collections. The festival will also introduce the first-ever Publication Grant for Student Translators, alongside a dedicated exhibition and a translation-focused bookstore.
