Hyderabad: Amid the ongoing row over the BRICS vegetarian menu, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday reacted to the controversy, saying that India is known for its diverse cultures, languages and food habitsHe stated that people belonging to different communities in the country have different preferences.
What did Owaisi Say?
Reacting on row over vegetarian food served at the BRICS Summit, Asaduddin Owaisi said that India’s identity is defined by its diverse cultures and around 20 percent of minorities are vegetarian.
“In this country, around 20% of minorities are vegetarian… India’s diversity includes different cultures, religions, languages and food habitsI do not know how many people liked it or did not like it… A diplomat would say that India’s diversity is not only cultural but also religious and linguistic,” Owaisi said.
