Adding that the shaving blade used in the attack was also recovered, the police said that the incident took place around 11 pm on September 13 following a quarrel between the couple at their residence in Sunder Nagri.

Police Response: Nand Nagri police received a PCR call around 11:40 PM and responded to the scene, though the victim had already been rushed to the hospital.
Police met the victim at the hospital, where she was undergoing treatment, and recorded her statement, a report by PTI news agency said.

An FIR was registered on September 14 under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder), and an investigation was initiatedThe forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected evidence, police said, adding that they subsequently apprehended Hussain.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted his involvement in the incident, following which the shaving blade used in the attack was recovered at his instance, the police saidHussain has no previous criminal involvement and is not listed as a bad character, according to police.
