New Delhi: Raymond Group Chairman, Gautam Singhania, was injured in a major speedboat accident in the Maldives on Friday, 20 March 2026. According to reports, he has been brought back to Mumbai.

There were 7 people on the boat

The incident occurred when his speedboat capsized. There were seven people on board the boat, including Singhania. Singhania was immediately rescued, airlifted to Mumbai, and is currently undergoing treatment at a city hospital. Two Indians remain missing following this accident. A spokesperson for Gautam Singhania has confirmed this incident. The accident occurred near the Felidhoo region of the Maldives.

The spokesperson stated that Gautam Singhania sustained minor injuries and he is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Mumbai. According to reports from the Maldives, the speedboat was carrying five Indians, as well as one woman each from Russia and the UK. Police reported that, as a result of the accident, five individuals were swept into the sea. This group included the Russian woman and four Indian men. The missing persons include two Indian nationals. A search operation is currently underway to locate them.

According to some media reports, Gautam Singhania has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. Sources indicate that he sustained some scratches and minor injuries, but is out of danger. Singhania is known to be an avid enthusiast of adventure sports and high-speed activities. Two Indians Missing, Three Injured

According to reports, two Indian men are reported missing in this incident, while three individuals have sustained injuries. According to the Coast Guard, the accident occurred approximately 2 nautical miles off the coast. Around 11:00 PM, the speedboat suddenly went out of control and capsized. A total of seven people were on board the vessel.

These included the captain, Gautam Singhania, and other passengers. The boat was carrying five Indian nationals, one British national, and one Russian national. The rescue team successfully rescued Gautam Singhania. The Coast Guard and the rescue team are continuing their search operations with the assistance of divers and high-speed vessels.
