PM Modi, Amit Shah, CM Rekha Gupta get bomb threat, Delhi Police on alert


The bomb threat email threatened explosions at the Delhi Assembly and Vidhan Sabha Metro Station.

Bomb Threat: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday received a bomb threat mail, in which an unidentified individual threatened to blow up the Delhi Assembly building and the Vidhan Sabha Delhi Metro Station. The email also contained threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the Speaker’s office said.

Following the threat, the bomb squad and police searched the Delhi Assembly premises. However, nothing suspicious has been found so far, HT reported. Police have taken necessary actions.

It is to be noted that the bomb threat mail is the latest in the series received in the capital city over the past few months. Delhi schools have received bomb threats in the past few months. However, all of the threats were hoaxes.

BOMB Threat: Several schools, bank in Delhi receive threat emails, security checks underway

Earlier this month, six schools and three banks received bomb threat emails. Banks such as Axis Bank branch (Connaught Place), SBI (AIIMS Branch) and SBI (Shahdara) received bomb threats, news agency PTI had reported.

The bomb threat led to a precautionary evacuation at schools. After through checks, the bomb squad and police had announced that nothing suspicious was found.
