Recalling the horrific incident, the mother of the 31-year-old software engineer said she had no idea what was about to happenShe believed her son’s relatives had come to the house to settle the marital dispute peacefully before the alleged attack turned fatalVinay Gupta, who worked at Adobe in Noida, was at his Nihal Vihar home in outer Delhi when the alleged attack happened, reported NDTV.
“The door was open, they came straight upstairsHis father said that there is no issue, they are relatives, it is fine, seat themI said, ‘son, turn on the AC, give them water’,” the grieving mother saidBut the situation turned violent instantly.
“I just went to give them a glass of waterThey had pinned down my boyThey threw him on the bed and grabbed him by the neckThey kicked and punched him in the stomach,” she said and broke downVinay Gupta’s mother said she and her husband were also attacked when they tried to stop the beating.
“His father was thrown asideI went to save him, and I was also thrown asideThen I called out to neighbours hereBy the time they arrived, they had finished my boyHe died on the way to the hospitalI only had one child,” she saidVinay Gupta’s father is a cancer patient.
What started as a small household dispute between Vinay Gupta and his wife, Rekha, allegedly turned violent after Rekha called her family members to the houseVinay’s family claimed that her two brothers, parents, sister-in-law and uncle arrived before the alleged assault.
Mother accuses techie of disabling CCTV cameras
The mother of the deceased techie demanded strict action, accusing her daughter-in-law of orchestrating the killing and intentionally disabling the CCTV cameras before the incident“Give her to us, and we will punish her with our own handsShe orchestrated his murder and leftThey grabbed him by his hands, choked his throat, jumped on his chest, and killed him right before my eyes within five minutesEverything went dark before my eyes,” she told reporters.
Vinay’s sister, who was present at the house, also alleged a well-planned ambushShe said her sister-in-law had stormed out after an argument in the morning and returned with the attackers suspiciously fast“Within just 10 minutes, she returned with six men from her familyShe led them upstairs,” the sister saidShe questioned how the relatives could reach the house in 10 minutes when they live around 30 minutes away.
“It was completely pre-plannedEverything was orchestrated in advanceThey refused the water, grabbed my brother by his hair, choked his throat and killed him.” Vinay’s sister alleged his wife frequently fought over minor issues and threatened the family.
The couple had been married for three-and-a-half yearsHe is survived by his wife and two twin children who are just a couple of months oldThe police have detained four accused in the murder caseThey are looking for a fifth accused, who is on the runA forensic team has checked the crime scene and investigators are checking the exact sequence of events.
