Amway India celebrates Children’s Day; launches CSR campaign, ‘Nutrition for better, healthier tomorrow’, to promote nutrition and hygiene

Reinforcing its focus on addressing childhood malnutrition and promoting healthy living, nutrition, and hygiene practices among underprivileged children, Amway India, one of the country’s leading FMCG Direct Selling companies, launched a series of initiatives under its CSR campaign – ‘Nutrition for better, healthier tomorrow’ on the occasion of Children’s Day. As the country continues its efforts to eradicate childhood malnutrition, Amway India joined forces through its social project on nutrition, Power of 5. Under this, aligned with its vision of helping people live better, healthier lives, the campaign focused on engaging and interactive sessions on healthy living, nutrition, and hygiene practices for the beneficiaries. The company also partnered with Akshaya Patra Foundation to support the nutrition requirements of children by providing mid-day meals to 1600 school-going children in multiple locations across the country.

In Kolkata, Amway India organized interactive sessions on nutrition and healthy habits including yoga workshops. Further adding the fun element to the workshop, children were engaged with the quiz and making nutritious food platters using clay and dough. These activities are designed to spread awareness, encouraging children to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Chandra Bhushan Chakraborty, Senior Vice President – East and West region, Amway India said, “Children are the future of our nation and it is important to nurture them with care. In line with our vision of helping people live better, healthier lives, we, at Amway, have been using our expertise in nutrition to improve the health of thousands of children around the world, through our Power of 5 program, which is aimed at reducing the incidences of malnutrition in children below the age of 5. This Children’s Day, we are happy to launch our CSR campaign ‘Nutrition for better, healthier tomorrow’, with a series of sessions on nutrition, health, and hygiene for these children and their caregivers to provide continuous support for their overall development, growth, and well-being. We believe grassroots initiatives like these, create awareness at the ground level paving the way for everyone to become agents of change.”

Over the years, Amway has been strategically investing in nutrition interventions and awareness programs to help and empower underprivileged children and their caregivers in areas of education, health, and hygiene. The company has been scaling up its globally renowned Power of 5 programs in India using grassroot-level interventions alongside innovations to address childhood malnutrition. So far, Amway’s Power of 5 program has benefitted over 1, 30,000 people including 36,000 children across Delhi, Nuh and Kolkata and aims to reach more than 400,000 beneficiaries across the country in the next few years. Early this year, Amway India launched an innovative micronutrient supplement – Nutrilite Little Bits™ providing daily essential vitamins and minerals to help manage micronutrient deficiency such as anaemia.
