#Kolkata: Perth Chatterjee’s plea was rejected by a division bench of the Calcutta High Court. Perth had applied to the Division Bench of the Subrata Talukder of the High Court, while the Minister had applied for protection. That application was dismissed by the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court. The division bench tightened the hand of the single bench. Besides, the court maintained the observation of Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay. Besides, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay’s observation was that the Chief Minister and the Governor should consider removing Perth Chatterjee from all the posts. Parthar’s lawyers also objected to that part. The division bench did not accept that objection. The court said that this part is not mandatory, but this part is not going to be omitted. Besides, the issue of Perth Chatterjee’s presence was also clear.
Subrata Talukder’s division bench on Thursday accepted the case of Perth Chatterjee. Earlier on Wednesday, the Calcutta High Court directed former education minister Perth Chatterjee to confront the CBI. During the hearing, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were also advised to remove Perth Chatterjee from the ministry. Perth was confronted by the CBI on Wednesday evening, shortly after noon, after a lengthy court order.
Perth then appealed to the division bench on Thursday, challenging the single bench’s verdict. A division bench of Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Rabindranath Samanta sought immunity from the case. After that, the case went to the division bench of Justice Subrata Talukder as per the decision of Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava. The case was accepted there. Without hearing the case on Thursday, it is Friday.
