#Kolkata: The Student Credit Card Ceremony will be held after the Chief Minister’s visit to North Bengal. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hand over the student credit cards to the students on June 9.
Banks have already approved loans for 25,000 students through student credit cards. The number of applicants has already reached around 2 lakh. The Department of Education has been instructed to speed up the process of giving loans through student credit cards. On June 9, more than 5,000 students will be given student credit cards across the state.

The Chief Secretary instructed the districts to make preparations. Nabanna instructed to review why the students are not being given loan through student credit card yet.
During an administrative meeting in Purulia on Monday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee again promised to hand over student credit cards to students. On June 9, the Chief Minister will hand over credit cards to about 5,000 students. The Chief Secretary directed the districts to take special measures for this.

The Department of Higher Education has already organized multiple district-wide camps for student credit cards. Officials at the Department of Higher Education expect the project to gain momentum with the issuance of student credit cards in February.
