Railway tracks have been inundated with rainwater, leading to the cancellation and diversion of as many as 140 trains. Severe waterlogging has also been reported on major routes, leading to traffic congestion in several areas of both states. In either territory, swollen rivers have caused thousands of people to seek safety in emergency shelters, facilitated by collaborative efforts from national and regional disaster response teams.
