Bharti Airtel Foundation Celebrates Teacher-Led Research and Innovation at CONVOKE 2025

Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, today hosted CONVOKE 2025, its flagship national research symposium for teachers, at the Constitution Club of India.

The symposium brought together teachers, trainee teachers, policymakers, education sector experts, and partners from across the country to showcase how classroom-based research and innovation can lead to better teaching practices and improved learning outcomes, in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Launched in 2016, CONVOKE reflects the Foundation’s focus on placing teachers at the centre of education change and emphasises continuous learning and innovation in schools.

This year’s edition spotlighted teacher-led action research studies and felicitated four national CONVOKE winners, selected from 151 research papers submitted by teachers and trainee teachers from across 16 States and Union Territories. Their winning projects demonstrated measurable improvements in classroom practice and student learning.

The event also featured the TLM League Awards on TheTeacherApp, Bharti Airtel Foundation’s digital platform that empowers India’s teachers with high-quality content and practical tools to enhance learning outcomes – free for life. This year, the TLM League received 1,728 entries from 26 States, with 14 teaching-learning materials (TLM) shortlisted as winners through a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process. The awards recognised educators for creating innovative teaching-learning materials that address real classroom needs.

Delivering the valedictory address, Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and Co-Chairman of Bharti Airtel Foundation, said, “Empowering teachers today is crucial to building a Viksit Bharat by 2047, where education forms the bedrock of nation’s progress and prosperity. Through Satya Bharti Schools, the Quality Support Program and TheTeacherApp, we provide quality training and resources to strengthen the education ecosystem. Initiatives like CONVOKE and the TLM League further celebrate these efforts, recognising teachers as innovators driving transformative change in classrooms.”

The symposium also featured addresses by distinguished guests including Shri Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Director Training, CBSE; Lt Col Jitendra Verma, OSD (Education and Skill Development), NITI Aayog; and Shri Arun Kapur, Director, Pallavan Learning Systems. They highlighted the importance of evidence-based, teacher-led initiatives in strengthening school education.

Through CONVOKE and the TLM League Awards, Bharti Airtel Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to elevating teaching quality and embedding classroom insights into India’s education reform journey. CONVOKE contributes towards realising the vision of NEP 2020 by supporting the professional development of the teaching community, inculcating scientific thinking at the school level, and fostering a culture of action research. This energises teachers to innovate and improve classroom practices. TheTeacherApp amplifies this impact by enabling teachers to share locally relevant resources, learn from peers, and strengthen classroom practices, building a platform that grows through teacher contributions, not just content consumption.
