New Delhi: Lok Sabha on Monday passed The Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2024′ in Lok Sabha after the demands for grants of various ministries were “guillotined”. Speaker Om Birla applied “guillotine” to the demands for grants of various ministries.The Appropriation Bill authorises the government to use certain sums out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the expenditure of the central government for the financial year 2024-25. The bill entails authorisation of expenditure of about Rs 140 lakh crore. The bill was moved for passage in the Lok Sabha by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
