The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to get under in USA, Mexico and Canada from midnight of June 11, 2026 with co-hosts Mexico taking on South Africa at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City with the final set to take place in Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. The tournament with a total of 104 matches set to be played across 16 venues spanning across North America.
The 52 teams have been divided into 12 group of 4 teams each which are the following…

Group A: Mexico, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Czechia
Group B: Canada, Switzerland, Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti
Group D: USA, Paraguay, Australia, Türkiye
Group E: Germany, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Curaçao
Group F: Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Tunisia
Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand
Group H: Spain, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde
Group I: France, Senegal, Norway, Iraq
Group J: Argentina, Austria, Algeria, Jordan
Group K: Portugal, Colombia, DR Congo, Uzbekistan
The top two sides from each of these 13 groups, along with the 8 best 3rd-placed teams, will qualify for the round of 32 in the FIFA World Cup 2026. From here on, the tournament will progress in a knockout format.
Argentina, led by 38-year-old Lionel Messi are the defending champions of the FIFA World Cup and have been clubbed in Group J with Austria, Algeria and Jordon.
