Yamuna Horror: A shocking incident has come to light from the Yamuna River, in which a boat filled with devotees overturned and led to the death of at least 10 individuals, as per reports. The incident happened on Friday, and an active rescue operation was conducted, which led to the finding of 14 individuals near Keshighat in Mathura. According to the initial reports, there were almost 25-30 individuals present on the boat when it overturned near a pontoon bridge.

The boat overturned in Mathura on Friday in broad daylight, which led to the death of 10 people, reportedly. Alongside this, an active rescue operation was carried out, which led to the rescue of others. The incident happened near the Keshighat in Mathura. The initial reports suggest that the boat was carrying almost 25-30 pilgrims.
DIG of Mathura, Shailesh Kumar Pandey, stated that the incident happened at almost 3:15 pm and that the boat “crashed into the pontoon bridge”.

CM Yogi reacts to the incident
After the incident happened, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned that his “condolences are with the bereaved families.”
He added that he has given guidelines to the concerned officials for reaching reach the location quickly, to carry out a rescue and relief operations, and ensure proper treatment for the injured.
