Synopsis
When an ambitious newcomer actress, Sneha, suddenly goes missing, the official police investigation quickly reaches a dead end. At that point, a sharp-witted yet often underestimated female constable named “Devi” begins her own parallel investigation.
As Devi pieces together the clues, she uncovers a shocking web of deception involving a highly respected spiritual guru, Hemanta Maharaj, and his grief-stricken housekeeper, Chhanda Mashi.
Driven by a mother’s desperate urge to avenge her son’s suicide and a fraudulent godman’s frantic attempt to hide scandalous secret videos, an unlikely alliance is formed with the goal of committing the perfect murder.
As the story unfolds, Devi must rely on her instinct and intelligence to expose the criminals and reveal the dark truths hidden beneath the masks of faith and innocence. Packed with revenge, religion, mystery, and suspense, Devi promises unexpected twists at every turn and is coming soon to Klikk OTT.

“I have never wanted to confine myself to a particular genre. All my previous works — Nonte Fonte, Jaha Kala, Piklu’r Janala, Abhagi, and Khacha — have each explored different storytelling styles. Devi is a crime thriller, a genre I personally enjoy deeply.
I believe women are often more sincere and dedicated in their work, yet society tends to underestimate them. Interestingly, in our culture, ‘Devi’ symbolizes power and strength. In this series, Devi is an emotional female constable who also battles workplace prejudice while solving a gripping murder mystery.
Nearly 80% of the shoot took place outdoors across Nadia district. The beautiful natural surroundings added a unique visual charm to the project, despite the challenging weather conditions.
This is my first collaboration with this esteemed OTT platform, and I’m grateful to Abhay and Neeraj Tantia from Klikk for this opportunity. My long-standing friendship with writer, collaborator, and actor Amlan Majumdar also greatly helped shape this project.
I always enjoy working with actors who have immense potential, and working with Arindam Ganguly and Avery for the first time was a wonderful experience.
Cinema is ultimately a medium of entertainment, and Devi promises not only thrills and suspense but also delivers a strong message — sins never go unpunished.”

“I have always tried to highlight real social issues and truths in my writing that encourage audiences to think beyond what they see. Devi is no exception.
The name ‘Devi’ itself symbolizes divine strength and the destruction of evil. However, the Devi in my story is an ordinary flesh-and-blood woman trying to fight against darkness.
The serene rural landscapes of Nadia and Kolkata enriched the emotional and visual depth of the story. I portray the character ‘Sumanta’, one of the key narrators through whose perspective the story unfolds.
This marks my seventh project with Klikk OTT, and I am grateful to Abhay and Neeraj Tantia for giving artists true creative freedom — something increasingly rare today.

Avery Singha Roy – Playing the Lead Role ‘Devi’
“There is a strange power hidden within the name ‘Devi’. Despite life’s struggles, some women truly become goddesses through their inner strength.
My character is layered with many emotions, and unpredictability is what made the script so fascinating to me. As an actress, I had the freedom to shape the character in my own way.
We shot in Naihati and Badkulla, and despite rain interruptions and technical challenges, we managed to overcome everything together.
The experience became even more memorable because the local residents embraced us warmly. Some evenings, we would all sit together enjoying tea and muri after long shooting schedules — those moments are unforgettable.
Personally, I am a believer. Standing before a deity gives me peace. However, I strongly believe that misusing religion for personal gain must always be opposed.
Sadly, many injustices we portray on screen are becoming reality today. So I would urge everyone to stay alert, stay healthy, and stay aware.
I especially hope that women facing suppression or pressure in workplaces will find courage and strength through Devi’s journey.”

“After reading the script, I realized that although I had portrayed godman characters before, this role had an entirely different shade, which made it extremely exciting for me as an actor.
Most of the production was shot outdoors in beautiful locations across Naihati and Badkulla. The atmosphere and teamwork on set were exceptional.
Interestingly, while shooting at an ashram in Badkulla dressed as a spiritual guru, many villagers genuinely greeted me with reverence and respect, which became an unforgettable experience.
Personally, I believe blind faith can often mislead innocent people. True religion lies in love for humanity, nature, and all living beings.
Love, honesty, and compassion are what truly matter in society.”

“I have played police officers before, but this character felt different because of his physical discomfort, sarcastic nature, and subtle comedic undertones.
Although he behaves harshly toward his female subordinates, he is not entirely dark or villainous. The story eventually leads him toward a personal transformation.
This series explores people who turn toward religion as their final refuge — from both vulnerable and opportunistic sides of society.
Audiences can expect an exciting journey filled with suspense, mystery, and occasional moments of humor.”

“This is my first OTT project. Many viewers may know me from the popular television serial Kanyadan, but in Devi, I appear in a completely different avatar.
This story is not just about one character — it is about women’s strength, victory, mystery, and suspense.
I play the role of Sneha, a character who feels extremely real because her greed, desires, and helplessness mirror people we often see around us.
Working with such experienced actors and under the guidance of director Anirban Chakrabarti and writer Amlan Majumdar greatly enriched my performance.
Inspired by true events, this series is packed with suspense, mystery, and shocking twists. I truly believe this story will touch viewers emotionally.
