Who was Vijaypat Singhania?
The Raymond Group rose to great heights after Vijaypat Singhania resumed the leadership in 1980. He took the group to soaring heights. In 1988, he conducted solo piloting of a microlight aircraft all the way from London to Ahmedabad. This grand journey was almost 9,000 kilometres long, and this is when everyone in the world became familiar with his admiration for the skies.Later, he made a world record for the highest flight ever in a hot air balloon at a grand altitude of 69,852 feet. What’s shocking is that Singhania did this at the age of 67.Vijaypat Singhania served as the chairman of the group for almost two decades until the year 2000. Later, he handed the company over to his son, Gautam Singhania. Alongside this, he provided his complete stake of 37 per cent to Gautam. This later led to legal disputes between the two. The last rites of Vijay Singhania will be performed on Sunday, as shared by his son Gautam Singhania on X. The cremation ceremony will be held at Chandanwadi at 3 pm.The news was shared by Singhania’s son on the social media platform X.
