Stree 3 to release in 2028, script completed
Producer Dinesh Vijan has confirmed that Stree 3, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is scheduled to arrive in theatres in 2028Director Amar Kaushik has completed writing the story, although the makers are keeping its plot under wraps.
Speaking on the second day of FICCI Frames 2026, Vijan said, “So, Stree 3 arrives in 2028If I say anything more, he will be upsetHe has finished writing itHe thinks I give out too many spoilers but everything you’ve loved about it, you will get itBut where it starts and ends, will be a complete revelationIt might be a nice Independence Day or Christmas present in 2028.”
The producer hinted at either an Independence Day or Christmas release, but a specific date has not been announcedThe film was earlier scheduled for August 13, 2027.
Why is Stree 3 taking longer to release?
Before returning to the Stree franchise, Kaushik will direct Mahavatar, a mythological drama starring Vicky Kaushal as Bhagwan ParshuramVijan described it as one of the production house’s most ambitious projectsThe director’s commitments to Mahavatar mean that filming for Stree 3 is expected to begin towards the end of 2027The completed script, however, gives the makers a foundation to move forward once the schedule allows.
