Toxic advance booking collection day 1: Yash’s film shows strong demand with Rs 28 crore pre-sales before release.

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is just days away from its August 26 release, and the film is already showing strong demand at the box officeThe Geetu Mohandas directorial has recorded impressive advance bookings across India, with Karnataka leading the numbers. The film marks Yash’s return to the big screen after the blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2With advance sales picking up across several markets, Toxic is now being closely watched for its opening-day performance.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic has crossed Rs 28.15 crore in domestic advance bookings, including blocked seatsMore than 4 lakh tickets have reportedly been sold across India in five languagesWithout blocked seats, the film’s advance gross stands at more than Rs 18 croreThe Kannada 2D version has contributed the most to the total, followed by Hindi 2D and Hindi IMAX 2D.

Karnataka leads Toxic advance sales

Karnataka remains the biggest market for Toxic, with Rs 14.2 crore coming from the state, including blocked seatsMaharashtra is next with Rs 2.44 crore, followed by Gujarat at Rs 1.74 crore. Among cities, Bengaluru has recorded the highest advance sales at Rs 8.89 croreMysuru follows with Rs 97.27 lakh, while Kalaburagi has registered Rs 55 lakh. Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Mangaluru and Belagavi have also recorded encouraging advance bookings ahead of the film’s release.

Kannada leads language-wise advance bookings

The Kannada 2D version is currently driving the majority of Toxic’s advance salesIt has generated more than Rs 9 crore from over 4 lakh tickets across thousands of shows. Hindi 2D has recorded the second-highest advance sales, while the Telugu 2D version has seen comparatively lower demand so far. The numbers show that Karnataka continues to be crucial for the film’s opening, while the Hindi and other regional markets will determine how wide its reach becomes.

Toxic ticket pricing in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore

Ticket prices for premium screenings of Toxic have become one of the talking points ahead of the releaseThe most expensive ticket currently listed is in DelhiA ticket in Vasant Kunj’s director’s cut is priced at Rs 2400 excluding taxesA ticket at Jio World Drive in Bandra is priced at Rs 2,250 including taxes.

In Bengaluru, a premium show at Forum Rex Walk has tickets priced at around Rs 2,181The average ticket price for the Kannada version is currently Rs 404, while the Hindi version has an average ticket price of Rs 364.

Toxic vs KGF: Chapter 2 advance booking

The current advance numbers are being compared with Yash’s last release, KGF: Chapter 2The Prashanth Neel directorial had reportedly crossed Rs 80 crore in all-India advance bookings before its April 2022 release. The Hindi market alone had contributed around Rs 22 crore to Rs 27 crore in gross advance bookingsWhile Toxic has a strong advance booking figure, it still has a considerable gap to cover if it is to match the pre-release pace of KGF: Chapter 2.

With the final hours of advance sales still remaining, Karnataka in particular will be important in deciding Toxic’s opening-day numbers.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role, with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair in key roles.

The gangster action drama has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is scheduled to release on August 26.

The English version has a separate international distribution arrangement with Lionsgate, with more details about its release expected to be announced later.
