Kangana Ranaut has joined the debate surrounding Kriti Sanon‘s Raksha Bandhan advertisement, which has sparked online criticism over the actor’s outfit and the portrayal of the festivalThe BJP MP and actor took an indirect dig at the ad without naming the actorKriti recently appeared in a Raksha Bandhan advertisement for a jewellery brandIn the ad, she was seen celebrating the festival in an off-white bralette-style blouse, which she paired with a cape and a draped skirt.
The advertisement soon became a talking point on social mediaWhile some users accused the brand of making a mockery of an Indian festival, others criticised Kriti’s outfit and called it “skimpy”.

Kangana has now reacted to the controversy through her Instagram StoryAlthough she did not mention Kriti’s name, her post appeared to be aimed at the ongoing debate surrounding the jewellery brand’s advertisement. “It’s a wonderful time to be a woman, our closets are full of variety of clothes, today’s woman is a global woman, from cocktail dresses to lehenga cholis, jeans to saris, bikinis to salwar kameez, from all the options that are available to us today why would you tie your brother a Rakhi in your bikini/ undergarments? Where are all your styling options?” she asked.
Kangana also described the advertisement as “intentionally creepy”.

The choice of outfit was not the only part of the advertisement that drew criticismThe ad also showed Kriti tying a traditional Rakhi to a dog after it barked at herThe scene also divided social media users, with some questioning the way the festival was presented in the advertisement.
Kriti Sanon has not yet reacted to the controversy or Kangana’s comments.
