South Peninsular India
The IMD on Sunday predicted heavy rains in some parts of Keralam over the next four days which would bring welcome relief to the state which has been reeling under rising temperatures and frequent power cutsThe India Meteorological Department (IMD) also said that there was a possibility of thunderstorms at isolated places in Keralam from September 20 to 21.
The weather agency also issued a yellow alert in seven districts of Keralam for the day with rains being reported from several parts of the stateA yellow alert signifies heavy rainfall between 64 mm and 115 mm.
According to IMD data, Keralam has witnessed a weak monsoon this year, with a rainfall deficit of 28 per cent from June 1 to September 17.
