Punjab DGP pays tribute
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav paid tribute to the officer and expressed condolences to his familyIn a post on X, Yadav said ASI Harjit Singh of Amritsar district had lost his life while performing his dutyHe also said the Punjab Police stood with the officer’s family during the difficult time.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs1 crore for the family of the deceased officer.
Another Rs1 crore insurance amount will reportedly be paid to the family by HDFC Bank, taking the total announced financial assistance to Rs2 crore.
