In a significant administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has transferred 4o IAS Officers, including 12 women officers, signaling a major reshuffle across all departments. As per this recent key reshuffle, District Magistrates(DMs) in 15 districts have been changed. According to the latest changes, IAS Officer Nidhi Gupta Vats has been given the charge of Fatehpur as the new District Magistrate. In other words, Vats has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Fatehpur. Earlier, she served as the District Magistrate of Amroha.
Who is IAS Nidhi Gupta Vats?
Nidhi Gupta Vats is a 2015-batch IAS officer. She obtained an All India Rank(AIR) 3 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2014. She was born on August 13, 1987. It is to be noted that Vats was earlier a part of the Haryana cadre. Post her marriage in 2016, she was later transferred to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Speaking about her personal life, she is married to Anurag Vats, an IPS Officer.
From where did she study?
Hailing from Delhi, IAS Nidhi Gupta Vats has always been a good student. While her educational qualifications are concerned, Vats finished her schooling from Oxford School in Vikas Puri. Later, she completed her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur.

Speaking about her family members, Vat’s father, Mohanlal Gupta, served as a director in the Rural Development Ministry. While her mother is a homemaker. Vats got trained at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie in 2016. Beginning her career, she worked as an Assistant Magistrate in Agra from May 2016 to September 2017. Later, she worked as a Joint Magistrate in Lucknow. She even served multiple roles, including Additional Housing Commissioner, Chief Development Officer in Hardoi, Special Secretary in the Excise Department in Lucknow, and Municipal Commissioner of Bareilly. She served as the DM of Amroha for nearly 1 year and 7 months.
