Karan Wahi recalls the moment he went numb

During the first week of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, the contestants were given a ‘pain auction’ task involving a pellet gunNow, in a conversation with Zoom, Karan Wahi recalled how Rohit Shetty warned the participants that they could step away if the pain became too difficult to handleKaran explained that the host made it clear that the challenge was not simply about entertainment and that contestants should not risk carrying severe pain or injuries through the rest of the season.

Recalling the experience, Karan said, “Because this is not fun and gamesThis could actually scare you and injure you in ways that you wouldn’t want toEventually, we had just begun the seasonSo, you don’t want to get into the show or go through the show with a lot of painAfter the first bullet hit, my mind went numbMy body was taking the blows, but I think beyond a point of time, I went numb.”

The actor further described how the intensity of the stunt affected his sensesHe said, “I couldn’t hear anybodyI would just hear someone getting shot next to meAnd I probably knew that it would now come to me.” Karan admitted that even now he is unsure what helped him get through the challenge.

What happened during the controversial task?

The ‘Pain Auction’ stunt involved Karan Wahi along with Gaurav Khanna, Vishal Aditya Singh and Shagun SharmaThe contestants stood with their backs exposed while wearing protective gear as rubber pellets were fired at them from a gradually reducing distance.

Each contestant was reportedly hit by around 40 pelletsThe task left several participants with visible bruising and marks on their backsGaurav and Shagun eventually stopped the stunt while Karan and Vishal completed it.

Injuries sparked an online debate

After the stunt aired Karan shared pictures of the injuries on his backGaurav also posted images and videos of his injuries describing the experience as extremely painfulThe visuals led to strong reactions online with some viewers questioning whether the challenge went too far.

The production team defended the task and maintained that safety procedures were followedBanijay Asia CEO Deepika Dhar said the show uses extensive checks and safety protocols and stressed that the stunts are carried out at an international location under controlled conditions.
