By Ankita Shaw:- The 23rd edition of Ravash 2026, organized by Sankalpa Nrityayan, brought an evening of devotion, culture, and classical elegance to Rabindra SadanDedicated to the birth centenary of Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, the program celebrated the enduring legacy of Odissi dance and the guru-shishya tradition.
The event opened with an invocation to Lord Jagannath and a traditional Mangalacharan, followed by a welcome address from Shri Subikash Mukherjee, Director of Sankalpa NrityayanThe highlight of the evening was the captivating “Ardhanarishwara” performance by acclaimed Odissi dancers Rajashree Praharaj and Pritisha Mohapatra, presented under the guidance of Guru Ratikant Mohapatra.
The program also honored young talent with the presentation of the Jit Britti and Udbhas memorial scholarships to Rishita Das and Mrittika Sen, respectivelyPerformances including Basanta Pallavi, Mohana Pallavi, Shrita Kamala, and Rase Hari Miha showcased the richness of Odissi dance.
The evening concluded with “Nibedanam” by Guru Asimbandhu Bhattacharya and Upasana Centre for Dance (Kathak), celebrating India’s diverse classical dance traditionsSmoothly anchored by Rohan Sengupta, Ravash 2026 left the audience inspired by its heartfelt tribute to India’s cultural heritage and classical arts.
