Kolkata, August 2026: Yatri Sathi is expanding its Shuttle network across Kolkata with more trips on its
existing routes and four new routes connecting key residential areas with Sector V and New Town.
The expansion comes as Yatri Sathi looks to build a reliable and sustainable shuttle ecosystem for
both daily commuters and shuttle ownersThe objective is to ensure that customers have access to a
consistent shuttle service while creating a sustainable operating model that allows shuttle owners to
continue serving these routes over the long term.
Yatri Sathi Shuttle currently operates on four routes:
- Barrackpore to Sector V
- Sreerampore to Sector V
- Bally to Sector V
- Sonarpur to New Town via Sector V
Along with increasing the number of trips on these existing routes, Yatri Sathi will be introducing four
new routes in the coming days: - Naihati to Sector V
- Bijoygarh to New Town via Sector V
- Ranikuthi to New Town via Sector V
- Barasat to Sector V
The new routes will expand Shuttle connectivity across North Kolkata, South Kolkata and surrounding
areas, providing commuters with more options to travel towards major employment hubs.
“Our focus is not just to add routes, but to build a shuttle network that can operate reliably over
the long termWe want to create a model that works for both customers and shuttle ownersAs
demand grows, we will continue adding trips and expanding to new corridors where we can
create sustainable operations,” said a Yatri Sathi spokesperson.
The Shuttle service is designed to provide commuters with a more convenient alternative for their
regular journeys, particularly for people travelling to major work hubs such as Sector V and New Town.
Yatri Sathi’s long-term vision is to encourage more people to choose efficient shared public
transport for their daily commute, helping reduce the number of private vehicles on the road
and, over time, contributing to lower traffic congestion across Kolkata.
With the latest expansion, Yatri Sathi plans to continue strengthening its Shuttle network based on
customer demand and operational feasibility, with more routes and trips expected to be added in the
coming months.
