Onion Price Hike: At a time when prices of petrol and cooking gas are at their highest, onion prices are leaving people in tearsHowever, addressing the issue, the central government has started operating the Kanda Express from today, offloading its buffer stockThe decision has been taken as the average price of onions rose to ₹42 per kg on Saturday, which is 42 percent higher than last yearThe current price of the key kitchen commodity is 19 percent higher than last monthThe Kanda Express, as the name suggests (trains transporting onions), will operate from Nashik to Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, and Guwahati.
